Life brings people together in mysterious ways, how Stephanie and JC found me was a total surprise! Stephanie and JC are so fun to shoot; they have so much chemistry that my shutter click was almost non-stop! While we were brainstorming on places to shoot, we decided to start with Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica, such contemporary, colorful and fun place to shoot !

We then move our way to the beach for some beach photos ! Love the Southern California sun !

Los Angeles Japanese Garden Engagement Photography | Brian & Jackie

Brian and Jackie knew they wanted to do their engagement photos at Japanese Garden in California State University at Long Beach the minute we discussed engagement photography.

This place holds so much sentimental value to the two of them! When Brian has to work late, Jackie would go out of her way, and go to California State University at Long Beach to spend some time with Brian, so the Japanese garden becomes a frequent visited spot for the two of them.

I absolutely love this photo ! It reminds me of a movie promotion poster of a love story !

This photo makes me giggle every time I see it, so full of love !

Since right now is Canon lens rebate time, I bought a 85 mm1.2L lens, and absolutely love it ! The bokeh is so creamy !

Another location that Brian and Jackie hangs out a lot is Dana Point Beach, this beach is very interesting, it’s not a sand beach, it’s a rock beach !

Brian couldn’t resist… was it a bear tickle? or is it Jackie ?

A Decade of Love

Matt and Chi-Shan are high school sweethearts. They’ve been together for 14+ years !

When I heard that, my eyes widened. Most couples that I know grew apart in college, but not Matt and Chi-Shan. They grew together, laugh together and are each other’s best friend.

Throughout Matt’s Masters and Doctoral education in Los Angeles, Chi-Shan and Matt are half a world apart, and yet the distance did not deter them, Chi-Shan comes to Los Angeles to visit and to be a part of Matt’s world in the states.

This is the Mat and Chi-Shan I know, playful and fun !

Chi-Shan will be returning to Taiwan shortly, and they don’t have balloons this big, so we decided to take some photos of big balloons!

Long Beach Engagement Photography | Dorothy and Kyle

At a mutual friend’s party, that’s where they met. briefly. Dorothy and Kyle left the party without each other’s contact information…. Then sometime later, Kyle was chatting with his friend, and asked his friend to say hi to Dorothy for him, you know, the cute girl at the party. Instead of doing that, the friend said, ” why don’t you do that yourself.”

The day at Long Beach was spent full of laughter and joy, Dorothy and Kyle are so fun to be around! I’m so stoked to be shooting their wedding next year, and I know it’ll be a fabulous wedding !

Kyle whispered something to Dorothy, I didn’t hear it… BUT… I saw her reaction.

while we were chatting, Dorothy told me that they play thumb wars a lot, so I asked them to show me
